The Wisent

The Wisent (also known as the European Bison) is like a Bison just that the Wisents tail and body is a little bit bigger and longer. Wisents are found in the southern parts of Lithuania and surrounding countries. The chart at the top states that the species of animal is  "vulnerable".  Did you know that the Wisent is the heaviest surviving animal in the entire Europe? They can weigh from 300 to 920 kilograms, and sometimes, but very rarely they can grow up to 1000kg! Well guys that's it for today. I am sorry this blog was so short, I just didn't have time to write it this week, but I promise that next week I will post a longer blog and maybe even extra content. Thanks for reading!!! :)

The Pond Bat

Pond Bats are located in the area of red

The Pond Bat is one of the many endangered animals in Lithuania. I will be posting this type of blog each week and each week there will be a different animal (all of these animals are endangered in Lithuania). So, moving on. The Pond Bat (in the summer) nests in a lowland places like woods or meadows with little ponds of water in that area. In the winter they usually nest in the mountains. These species are dying out fast. I will probably put a chart or something on the left. The Pond Bat is one of the largest bats in Europe. The length of its body is 51 - 73 mm and weight 10.5 - 28.5 g. The Pond Bat hunts in the early morning and late at night. That's it for the Pond Bat. Thanks for reading! :)

Hello Everyone!

(Lthuania is the country in red)
Hello Everyone! This is my first post!!! I just want to briefly explain what this blog is about. Since my herritage is Lithuanian and I live in Lithuania, I've been really concerned about the wildlife in Lithuania. If you didn't know where Lithuania was, it is a small country in the middle of Europe. I have also been concerned about other wildlife, but now I'll just stick to Lithuania. There are many animals that are dying. Scientists have calculated that 97% of the species that live on Earth are now extinct. So that's why I am making this blog. To inform other people about this tragedy.
